About Us
Mountain View Elementary - Part of the Sustaining the Future Pathway
Our School
Mountain View Elementary was first established in 1909 in the historic South Valley.
Mountain View Elementary was rebuilt in 2017 as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) school. LEED is the most widely recognized certification of green structures in the world. Come see our beautiful campus for yourself!
Community and family partners are an important part of our school. We partner with our pathway schools, community gardens/farms, the Valle de Oro Wildlife Refuge, and agricultural and 4H programs.
Mountain View Elementary received a MSAP grant in 2023 to be part of a STEM Magnet Pathway.
What is a Magnet School?
Magnet schools are special schools that value academic achievement and diversity in the community while also providing additional themed based learning.
Community Schools
Community schools are designated by the state Public Education Department to transform schools through community voice, collaborative leadership and innovative school strategy.
Environmental STEM
We offer STEM focused thematic instruction, including a school garden and PLTW curriculum. We are building a theme based STEM Lab and Maker’s Space.
AVID
AVID’s mission is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society.
Bilingual Education
Mountain View offers a heritage bilingual model where students learn academic content in Spanish and English. This serves our community with connection to many students’ heritage and home language.
